Beneath still waters…betrayal runs deep

All River ever knew was her forest home. When the mysterious Alexon Zeno comes along, taking place of the elements' old guardian, River has hopes that she might get more than just a glimpse of the human world. What she doesn't anticipate is that he is not at all what he seems and, with his arrival comes more complications than she anticipated. 

Dragged away from the only home she's ever know and separated from her siblings for the first time, River must decide whether to trust the person meant to protect her, the very person who betrayed her more deeply than she could've imagined. Lost in a world of humans, her abilities coveted by a power hungry vampire and his legions of followers sick of living in shadows, she must swallow her pride and hope that she doesn't regret it. 

In the midst of a flight from creatures wanting nothing more than to use her, she is confronted by memories both foreign and familiar of another life, those of a young woman by the name of Constantine. Confused and scared, River's future rests in the hands of Fate, a fact that could possibly land her in a new prison, one of likes she's never imagined.
