Timpani Time

This book is intended to help young percussionists learn timpani. In the Coopersville band program, band students begin percussion halfway through there first year of band in the 5th grade. During this time the percussionists learn snare drum and bells. In the 6th grade, percussionists are exposed to a variety percussion instruments including the timpani. This fun and interactive book was created to allow 6th grade percussionists to learn the fundamentals of timpani on their own. This book can also serve as a refresher course for older percussionists. 

This project is presented in partial fulfillment of the degree requirements for a Master’s of Music in Conducting from the American Band College of Sam Houston State University.
