Paul Marshal only wants one thing, to take care of and build a beautiful life for his family. His short time as a criminal defense attorney has provided that better life, but his morality has fought against him every step of the way. 

Ignoring his gut, he intends to continue defending criminals to provide well for his family, until one night when his wife and three children are brutally murdered. His entire life taken from him in the blink of an eye and beyond that unimaginable reality, there is evidence that proves he is the one who carried out the killings.

He accepts that his life is over and is ready to rot away in a prison cell for the rest of his life, until a mysterious figure decides to take Paul under his wing. This man teaches and trains Paul, all the while preparing him to escape prison and find the real killer.
