Truth in Tears

Ashley Walker was giving birth to her daughter when her boyfriend ran off with another woman leaving her alone and destitute with a newborn baby, . Life went on but Ashley is unable to give up her hate, anger and bitterness. She is mistrustful and wary of all relationships outside of her immediate family. Five years have passed since she and her daughter Becky returned home to live with her parents, Frank and Linda Walker. The family adjusted and is living a life of quiet contentment. Their peace is shattered when Ashley is injured in an auto accident sustaining severe head injuries. The surgeons save her but she remains in a coma. As days pass and hope wanes, the family struggles with God. Frank is a strident atheist. Linda was raised a Christian but left the church to satisfy her husband’s overpowering lack of faith. Ashley was raised in a non-believing home with no knowledge of God’s saving grace.

Although they are not believers their thoughts inevitably turn to God. How can God allow this to happen? If He exists at all and is truly all-powerful and loves humanity why won’t He heal Ashley? The family struggles with these questions and the unfairness of life itself. A local Christian Church reaches out to help them in their distress. Pastor Phil is challenged with the hard questions. Five-year-old Becky listens carefully to the conversation between Pastor Phil and her grandfather. She is the first to turns her heart to the Lord. The little girl develops an unshakable faith and maturity beyond her years. She becomes the rock holding a fractured family together.

But what about Ashley? She lies unmoving and unresponsive in a coma and shows no signs of recovery. Is she lost to God or can the Holy Spirit of God reach her in her dark world? Although Ashley's spirit lives in a broken body she is not alone. Demonic spirits encircle her like predators. In response to Pastor Phil's prayers another spirit arrives and illuminates the darkness.
