Understanding Recording
For Primary School Children
Publisher Description
Understanding Recording is a simple introduction to recording studios.
This has been created as a resource for New Zealand students and teachers of Primary School and Intermediate aged children.
It introduces the child to basic concepts of the recording process, and to such terms as ‘tracks’, ‘overdubbing’ and ‘effects’. There are audio examples to demonstrate and interactive panorama shots of the interior of a recording studio to explore.
If your school is part of the Play It Strange ‘Jam Bus’ mobile recording programme - it is encouraged that you look at this before the event. This will help the students contextualise their experience and to learn from it.
