Saul Imbierowicz led an unremarkable life, until Al Capone murdered him, and he was reborn as a vampire. Now Saul works for Eliot Ness, trying to take down Chicago' s most notorious gangster. Being a vampire has its ups and downs and Saul has a million questions about his new " life" . Al Capone offers to answer Saul' s questions, but for a price that Saul is unwilling to pay. When the mysterious Mr. Brown returns, Saul learns that a vampire war is brewing. As Saul struggles to keep himself from becoming a monster like Capone, he must work with Agent Christian Wright, a task which is easier said than done. Christian would rather stake Saul than work with him, but Christian knows that a vampire war would be disastrous. This fledgling partnership must succeed, or Chicago will pay the price.

There isn't a lot of pizzazz in Habiger and Kissee's serviceable second Saul Imbierowicz historical urban fantasy (following Unremarkable), despite the fun premise of Saul and his boss, Eliot Ness, attempting to apprehend vampire gangster Al Capone.
