Marie Corelli (1 May 1855 – 21 Apr 1924) was a British writer. Until World War I her publications were extremely popular. Despite the fact, that her writings were regarded as the favorite of the multitude, Corelli’s works sold more copies that most of popular authors of that time call together, including Arthur Conan Doyle, Herbert Well and Rudyard Kipling. During the First World War, Corelli's reputation suffered when she was convicted of food hoarding. A recurring theme in Corelli's writings is the attempt to reconcile Christianity with mysticism.
Vendetta, A Story of One Forgotten is a mystic novel by Marie Corelli. The story is set in Italy, in the city of Naples. It was the end of nineteenth century, and cholera has paid another visit into people’s homes. But no time is hard enough, no time is dire enough to prevent people from love, hate and vengeance. How will this tangled story of one Italian vendetta end unfold? Read and find out.
