Visual Vocabulary

This book contains visual images made with Keynote slides to represent words my students have encountered while reading.  Students added shading and various other effects to the images they found, with a definition and part of speech to make the word come to life.  By analyzing, and evaluating different images to find the best fit for the word, my students have been engaged in high levels of critical thinking while learning vocabulary.  When students use the nuances of meaning to determine the best visual representation for a word, they are really demonstrating true comprehension. I hope you enjoy these slides made by my 4th graders, which really are pieces of art!
