Was That a Lie‪?‬

Clara Presley is the woman who chose chaos. Having surrendered to John Carrington—the brilliant leader of a ruthless Irish dynasty—she believed the era of secrets was over. She was wrong.

An informant within the County Mayo Clan has compromised Clara's safety, forcing Carrington to send her across the sea to the West Coast of Ireland. While seeking sanctuary, Clara forms an alliance with Carrington's enigmatic mother, only to be intercepted by his estranged father, Nicholas Smith, the calculating Don of a rival empire.

Nicholas holds the key to the informant's identity, but his price is absolute: Clara must manipulate Carrington into a reconciliation with Nicholas. Caught between her survival and her husband's visceral hatred for his father, Clara weaves a web of her own. As she dodges shadows and deceptions, she realizes that in this Underworld, truth is a liability, and the lie is the only currency of survival.

To save her life and her marriage, Clara must navigate a minefield of shifting loyalties. But every secret she keeps brings her closer to a devastating truth about the bloodline she married into, and the role she was destined to play.
