Wealth

Kristiania is a loose collective of writers and artists who have come together to encourage each other’s work and put the means of production back in the hands of the people who write the books. The group publishes and supports the creation of writing that does not conform to the commercial expectations of the contemporary publishing industry. Though our personal aesthetic visions may differ, we are united in our belief that art plays an urgent and central role in challenging cultural and political assumptions and molding that which makes us human.


WEALTH collects twenty-one pieces from members of Kristiania contemplating the theme of wealth. Some of these stories, poems, drawings, and photographs deal directly with questions of affluence and class as they affect individual relationships. Some explore the different types of meanings of wealth. Some tackle the consequences of the uneven distribution of wealth for communities and societies. All are deeply personal and urgently relevant to the challenges facing humanity today.
