What is the impact of psuedowords when developing phonics?
Publisher Description
The subject of English was chosen to raise standards, over the course of the four-week placement. Whilst in discussion with the class teacher and the English coordinator of the school, it was decided to focus on the skill of phonic blending in the reception class; the same class which SE took place. This is in accordance with the School Development Plan (SDP) target “to improve the standards in reading, particularly the performance of more-able pupils” (SDP, 2017). Five learners were then chosen to participate in the action research project; two learners currently levelled as ‘more-able’, the other three learners regarded as ‘targeted’.
