A promise is an agreement to do or not to do something; its a vow. There are some people who take a promise to heart. Edith was such a person. Edith Smith who lived in Baltimore and Norma Welsh who lived in Texas, were more than just best friends. They were more like sister. , Those the distance, they shared lives together, for more than three decades.
When Norma died four short months after her wedding, she sent her grief stricken husband to her friend Edith. Edith heart broke for herself and her new brother-in-law.
