He found her in the storm. Now she can’t leave.
During a mountain blizzard, Amber loses control of her car and crashes into a ravine. Her phone dies in the crash. When she wakes, she is inside an isolated cabin hidden deep in the woods.
The only other person there is Charlie.
Quiet. Always watching.
He gives Amber dry clothes, food, heat, and a place to recover from the accident. He tells her the plows won’t reach the road for days. It’s too dangerous to go outside.
At first, his calm feels reassuring.
Then she notices the doors are always locked.
He insists he’s only protecting her. Charlie doesn’t see Amber as a guest. He sees her as something he pulled from the mountain. Something that belongs with him now.
Cut off from the outside world and unable to call for help, Amber realizes Charlie may be more dangerous than the storm outside.
By the time she decides to escape, Charlie is no longer asking her to stay.
