Joseph Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936) was an English short-story writer, poet, and novelist. He wrote tales and poems of British soldiers in India and stories for children. He is famous for his works such as: Just So Stories, The Jungle Book and "Gunga Din". In 1907 Rudyard Kipling got the Nobel Prize for Literature. Over his last few years, Kipling suffered from a painful ulcer. It took his life on January 18 in 1936.
