Wringing Gendered We

WRINGING GENDERED WE is a single experimental poem that spans the length of a chapbook via traditional formatting that also incorporates footnotes and end notes. In this way, each page is in conversation with the others, allowing the reader to better understand the "we" the poem describes as the reader and the speaker, the speaker and an alternate self, and the speaker and an unnamed partner. Each of these pairings introduces unique conflicts that manifest over the pages, all dealing with themes of gender fluidity, grief, identity, and discovery.
