There was a time when Bishop Derrick Anthony Garrett had some hard lessons to learn. His wife threatened to divorce him. The deacons of his church wanted to replace him. His children nearly hated him.

But after some soul-searching, his life seems to be on the mendat least on the outside. His congregation has grown to more than 2,000 members. He is now a respected senior pastor and bishop who appears to be a successful man of God. Despite it all, Derrick is truly happy for the first time in his life.
