Alexander the Great

It's book provides a balanced portrait of the man known as Alexander the Great who in history has been hailed as a hero free from any mundane frailties. He was a conqueror, but at the same time a bad leader. At the end, it was his army which defied his orders to march forward and forced him to return from India where, on his way, he met with his death in Persia. The story in the book that on hearing of his death that Athenians had gone into a joy is an example of how he had been treated by his own subjects. A m use read by all.
