Cove lives with her aunt in Vermont and is writing letters to her mom who lives in Nashville. Cove's aunt encourages her to go to a support group to help develop social and coping skills, and in this group she meets Vera. Vera had been through indescribably difficult times, as well as Cove, which makes them instantly click. Is naivety or brutal honesty more beneficial?
