East Coast Light

Mark Slater has lived or visited the East Coast of Britain for most of his life, drawn back to experience the peace of miles of only, sand, sea and clouds. To meet family, friends and for leisure. People have gravitated towards the Britain’s coast for generations, for the draw of the sea and a sense of belonging during factory closedowns. Holiday towns and day trips are part of our national character and identity.

East Coast light starts at the southern most part of the coast Gibraltar Point and finished at Cleethorpes, documenting along the way towns and villages such as Skegness, Ingoldmells and Sutton-on-Sea.

Mark explores the relationship between the people and in the environment, highlighting places often overlooked.
