Sage Holland, a talented witch and interior designer, has just graduated from the Institute for the Arcane Arts. She's eager to prove herself as the High Witch's assistant and find her place in the world. As she embraces her new role, Sage reunites with her charming high school sweetheart, Brad, living next door and reigniting old romantic feelings.

But trouble brews in Emberwick Crossing when a malevolent spirit begins wreaking havoc on the town's residents and threatens to ruin the High Witch's birthday party.
