John J Smyth has stated in his letter to the Editor (1) that 'by failing to refer to the Regulations (2) made under the Principal Act (3) the writer makes this issue [freedom of conscience and termination of pregnancy] (4) extraordinarily complicated'. He goes on to say that the present writer's 'fascinating and indeed erudite discussion about the relevance of the Limitation Clause in the Constitution (5) and about comparisons with English law, and indeed section 10(c) of the Principal Act, all become otiose' (1) (footnotes added).
