Immortal Summer

Twilight meets Saltburn in this delicious new novel from bestselling author Sydney Shields, which follows scholarship grad student Sumner Caldwell as she agrees to spend the summer at a classmate’s decadent coastal estate—but when she starts suspecting she’s surrounded by vampires, it’s kill, be killed, or perhaps fall in love…

When her summer teaching job falls through at the last minute, Sumner Caldwell is desperate. She can’t afford to stay in university housing, but she’ll do anything to avoid returning to her suffocating backwoods hometown. So, when her eccentric classmate Tripp Caraway invites her to join him at his swanky estate on Hilton Head, she reluctantly becomes his charity case.

But Sumner has spent her time at school hiding the truth about her Lowcountry roots and troubled family—a task that might prove more difficult at Evermore, a home that is as beautiful and strange as its inhabitants: the group that calls themselves the Evers.

There’s Ellis, cold and unfriendly, who has an enigmatic bond with Tripp. Priscilla, fun, outgoing and timeless as a Hollywood starlet. Declan, their uncle, who is mysteriously absent yet somehow controls everything. And Henry—the gorgeous, brooding writer who takes Sumner’s breath away, the two of them drawn to each other from the moment she bumps into him in Evermore’s library.

As Sumner loses herself in Henry and the seductive whirlwind of the Evers’ lifestyle, she starts to realize there’s a sinister underside to their decadence, things about their life that don’t make sense—and that the reason for her invitation might be much darker than simple charity.

Then again, Sumner isn’t who she seems, either. And she might not be a vampire, but she knows how to bite back…
