L'Avventura

A summer that was also the summer of our lives.

The late 1990s, a sun-dazzled European city . . .

Invited to a dance party, a group of friends decide to spend three days walking there, cross-country, camping at night. They find themselves in a landscape at once ordinary and enchanted, haunted by echoes and shimmering with romantic promise. At a lake, a lucky discovery alters the genre of their journey, introducing a thread of threat, temptation and betrayal. What will happen? Is Paradise destined, always, to be lost?

Brimming with sparkling dialogue and screwball metaphysics, L'Avventura is a beautiful, lyrical novel about friendship, youth, falling in love and the passing of time.
