Note-Book of Anton Chekhov

This volume contains notes, sketches and character studies that Chekhov made in preparation for writing projects. Some of these notations were developed into stories and plays that appear elsewhere in this anthology and others were left unfinished. Analyzing this notebook is important for understanding Chekhov as both a man and as a writer.
