Hotel Byers, and Singer Sewing Machine Company (hereinafter referred to respectively as Harris Furniture, Hotel Byers, and
Singer,) each brought suit in the circuit court of Coles County to recover damages to their property resulting from a series
of explosions and fires caused by propane gas which escaped from an underground propane gas tank located behind the City Drug
Store in Mattoon, Illinois.
