Publisher Description
1. The First Amendment Establishment Clause precludes judicial review of claims relating to the discharge of a pastor where review would cause excessive entanglement in the governance of the church. 2. Allegedly defamatory statements relating to a pastor's duties and job performance made by church members at church meetings and by a bishop's assistant to a church official are conditionally privileged and summary judgment is appropriate in the absence of a showing of malice.
