Shadow Escape, Shadow Point Security Romantic Suspense Series, Book 8

Protecting her is his mission. Loving her could change everything.

Marine biologist Marisol St. John has no time for romance. She has an aquarium to run, a grandmother to care for, and an octopus named Minerva Mabel who treats every locked tank like a personal challenge.

Then the FBI shows up and asks her to go undercover. A suspicious wildlife shipment has been linked to an exclusive restaurant catering to wealthy clients with a taste for rare, illegal animals. To get inside, Maris has to pose as the girlfriend of former Navy SEAL Houston Grant.

Houston's an expert at locating people, getting them out of danger, and moving on. He's also exactly the kind of wealthy, polished man the FBI needs to infiltrate the world behind the restaurant.

All he needs is a convincing girlfriend.

Maris is nothing like the women he usually dates. She's blunt, brilliant, and far more interested in marine life than his charm.

Their fake date goes sideways when Maris discovers a captive octopus destined for a private buyer—and Houston helps her steal it. Now they've exposed something much bigger than one shady restaurant, and someone wants Maris silenced.

Houston has spent his life rescuing people and moving on.

Maris may be the one woman he can't walk away from.
