Thinking of the eternal God as having arranged a temporary system for a certain purpose may not be a common thought with most of us; but there are a great many such arrangements in the Bible. The subject matter discussed in this composition is a temporary arrangement that God designed. It had served a purpose for which God designed it. Many lessons can be learned about the character of God through His temporary arrangements. We could even dig deeper and learn some valuable lessons about the shadows and types of God's designs to save the souls of men. But the main point I want to express here is that the preparation and use of the temporary arrangements were for temporary purposes. They were designed by God; they served a temporary purpose and then were put aside.
