Man failed. The Great Flood stole the world. Plastic island cities are scraps of their former selves. Modern idols have become heroes, monsters, and myths. The war drums are beating again. Captain Watson of the ship Amelia and her crew of women venture the seas peacefully keeping to themselves in the new world as they give each other hope and strength, until they are abruptly forced into an around-the-world adventure saving the peaceful, enduring the strange, and fighting Alternates who want to reclaim power through violence.
