Account of a Case of Successful Amputation of the Thigh

Written from the viewpoint in favor of mesmerism, this title is addressed to the Royal Medical and Chirurgical Society. The first half of the book is written by Sir Topham and is his account of a patient who, in a mesmeric state, had his leg amputated. The second half, by Mr. Squire does the same, but from a medical perspective, recounting the man's ailments, the methods used and the outcome of the surgery.
