All across Fukuoka City in southern Japan, people are committing suicide, seemingly with no warning or motive. It’s up to the Night Sword Detective, an amateur teen exorcist, and his mysterious katana-wielding fox spirit partner to figure out what’s causing them.


In cracking the case, he may end up taking on more than he bargained for, and uncover memories from the past best left forgotten as well as a shocking revelation that could spell danger for him, those he loves, and maybe even all of Japan.


CITY OF THE NIGHT SWORD is the first episode of the first season of The Night Sword Detective, a paranormal investigation series of short, fast-paced case files that deal with terrifying creatures from Japanese myths and legends.
