This book is a supplement to accompany Chapter 1 of "A Guide to Historic Charlottesville and Albemarle County, Virginia." In the Guide, my first chapter is about the history of Europeans in Virginia in the seventeenth century. Because of space limitations, we had to omit the tours that went with this chapter.
