Readers expecting a self-help book about attaining joy in any sort of crisis may be thrown off by how much Feinberg sticks to her own personal story. Yet Feinberg ultimately provides a perspective on joy amid the bleak stretches of life that is appealing because of her vulnerability and warm in its wit.
