God Is More Than A Good Idea

In addition to being an author, Michael McDonald is an ordained minister and a licensed professional counselor in private practice with his wife and partner Rebecca.


Besides counseling people who have both mental health and substance abuse problems, Michael and Rebecca present creative Christian programs using magical illusions, clowning, and ventriloquism.



In God Is More Than a Good Idea, Michael describes how to allow God to be more than a rational belief in your life. Im excited about the book, he says, because Jesus proved by his every word and action that he was God in the flesh.



He simply did everything right. What was his reward for loving us? We tortured and killed him. What was his response to our hatred? He prayed from the cross, Father, forgive them because they dont know what they are doing. I dont know about you, but thats the kind of God I want to know.



The book covers a lot of ground with Michael sharing many of his own personal experiences as he talks about how you can become Gods friend. Whats the point, he asks, if God is only a good idea? What good is a God who isnt there and doesnt care? The good news is that God came to planet Earth to help us find love and peace in a world filled with trouble.
