It's summer, and everyone's favorite New York Times-bestselling Grumpy Monkey is ... beach bound? Blech, the beach! Jim Panzee knows nothing beats the jungle, but with some encouragement, maybe he will realize the beach isn't so bad after all.

Jim Panzee and his neighbor Norman are setting off for a beach vacation. Jim has never been to the beach, but he already knows he doesn’t like it. The bright sun? The blue blue sky?? The lack of bananas??? The beach is the worst! Why would they walk so far to the beach, though, when they live in the best place there is: the jungle!

But once he's convinced to give beach a chance, Jim begins to see the appeal. And by the time he has to go home, he never wants to leave! Will Jim ever be satisfied?
