Heritage Middle School

Heritage Middle School is proud to serve over 600 diverse students and their families, with 71 percent of the population considered low income. The school is one-to-one iPad. The school works to challenge their students, provide real-life opportunities, and allow student choice. 


Students are provided many opportunities to make connections from their learning to the real world, such as in Challenge Based Learning projects in many classes. Team building and review of expectations are incorporated in academic classes. In addition, Heritage provides opportunities for students to collaborate throughout the school year in clubs. One club used iMovie to create welcome videos for incoming students, and in the Robotics club, the team went to the national competition during 2016–2017. In the TED Ed club students use their devices to do research and create a presentation for a TED Talk on something they’re passionate about. 


The school is proud of its attendance rate of 96 percent. Throughout the past two years, the school has continued to show significant growth (10 percent attainment increase) on PARCC scores.
