Chapman (A Highlander Christmas) relies on the magic of Christmas to explain away passages about the MacKeages' mystical abilities, which will only make sense to readers of her Pine Creek Highlander series. But the romance between Jessie and Ian is compelling and sweet, albeit too quick to move past any awkward moments around Jessie's injuries.
