Publisher Description

Daniel Defoe  was a prolific English writer, who is mostly known for the adventure novel 'The adventures Of Robinson Crusoe. Defoe was a tradesman but many trading campaigns he took part in went bankrupt.

This book is a historical novel about the darkest days of London in 1665. There was the Great Plague, which mercilessly struck the city. This novel described the social inequality events, which were caused by human suffering, and the mere devastation occupied London at the time. Defoe described the life of one ordinary man, who wanted to survive in those conditions. He preferred to stay in a house rather than to escape the disease in safety places, which were too crowded. The author described many horrible stories, which were experienced by London dwellers, including craze-affected people wandering the streets aimlessly, locals trying to escape the disease-infected city, and healthy families forced to confine themselves behind closed doors…
