Journey to the Underworld

Journey to the Underworld is both short story fiction and an introductory chapter to the forthcoming novel ‘Lady Lazarus’ due for publication Autumn 2020.


Lisa Lyons is an artist that was born with a heart valve defect that she learns at age twenty will require open heart surgery at some point in her future. Living in the uncertainty of when that time will come, she is pulled into that shadows of life under the weight of this burden. Finally under the knife, she is summoned to the Underworld, a portal to purgatory where she must face herself, her past and the dragon within her.
