The Ramayana is an ancient Indian epic, written by the great sage Valmiki in poetic verse.

Composed of 24,000 Sanskrit verses, the Ramayana narrates the life story of the divine prince Rama, from his birth in Ayodhya, marriage to princess Sita,her abduction by the demon king Ravana, to the subsequent battle between Rama and Ravana which ends in Ravana’s death.
