Minerva Atramentous, Necromancer

Beyond the somber gas lamps of the city streets lurks a growing threat, and time is running out.

Murder was not terribly uncommon in Iondra, but when Lady Atramentous finds herself investigating it, her necromantic powers reveal something is terribly wrong. An unknown dark magic has struck the victim and she cannot call upon the best witness- the murdered party themselves.

At the risk of being found in treason of the tyrannical Emperor Cecil, she continues her investigation and uncovers a plot stranger than she could have imagined - an otherworldly foe is seeping into the city and she must race against time to stop them.

With little more than the dregs of high society at her side she makes allies of the strangest sorts, from sewer-dwelling goblins to aristocratic vampires and illegal practitioners of magic. Can these strange new friends be trusted - and if so, do they even stand a chance against a fate worse than any tyrant could hope to be?

Or will the dead be left as the truly fortunate?
