Publisher Description

Lucius Domitius Ahenobarbus, known as Nero, was a Roman Emperor, the last in the Julio-Claudian dynasty. He was adopted by his great-uncle Claudius and become his heir and successor, who succeeded to the throne after the death of Claudius.

He was infamously known as the Emperor who fooled around while Rome burned. It was thought that he started the fire in order to clean the  land for his planned palatial complex, the Domus Aurea. According to the rumors, he captured Chirtians, dipped them in oil and burned them in his garden at night, as a source of light.

This book represents his biography and presents his life, pictured with human greed, cunning, and selfishness.

It is part of “Makers of History”, book series from the 19th century, which represents biographies of some people from the past. It is written by two brothers, Jacob and John Abbott.
