Publisher Description
ONE of the standard methods in experimental science for obtaining an understanding of the interrelations between two phenomena is to vary one while keeping the other constant. Unfortunately, this method can only be applied in a limited way when studying the interrelation between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. In most organisms the only practical way to vary the nucleus or the cytoplasm is through the selection of the gametes that are used to form a zygote.
