Labour is said to have started when contractions lasting about 20 - 30 seconds and coming regular every 15 – 20 minutes begin; or it can be heralded by a sudden breaking of the water. The medical experts will be on hand, but your partner will be encouraging you and loving you as you both marvel at the miracle that is the birth of your child.
