Save the Orangutans

Year 6 at Kingfisher have been learning about deforestation and it’s effects. One of the key contributors to deforestation of the rainforest is building palm oil plantations. Iceland and Greenpeace brought out an advert before Christmas that was deemed too controversial to be on TV. Year six pupils have used their writing skills to tell the story as a narrative to get the message about uncertified palm oil plantations out into their community. They have decided to sell their ebook to raise money to donate to the WWF and adopt an orangutan.
