Take the Fear Out of Cables: Felted Knit Clutch

Tuck this gorgeous, felted knit clutch under your arm for every outing. The Felted Clutch is simple to knit in mostly stockinette stitch pattern with one wide cable down the center. This project uses 100% wool, medium weight yarn (approximately two skeins equaling 210 yards [192 meters]), straight knitting needles in Size 7 [4.5 mm]. Additional supplies needed include: a cable needle, yarn needle, 1.5” [4 cm] button, sewing needle and matching thread. The finished size of the Felted Clutch is approximately 12” wide x 27” long [30.5 cm x 68.5 cm] before sewing and felting; and, 10.5” wide x 6” deep [26.5 cm x 15 cm], after sewing and felting. Pattern gauge is approximately 22 stitches and 25 rows = 4” [10 cm]. The suggested skill level to complete this project is rated as “intermediate”.
