That's Not My Cat

A colorful children's picture book tells a touching story of a family caring for a grandparent with dementia, a cheeky young grandson, and pet cat named Blaze.The family tries to help Pop Pop remember that Blaze is his cat. Pop's forgetfulness and memory loss are due to his dementia and his brain injury. Blaze is a bright-eyed, fluffy, orange kitty they adopted from the animal shelter to help keep Pop Pop company. Categorized as a children's fiction, this story however, is based on the author's real life experience caring for her father. The young grandchild cheerfully does his best to help Pop Pop remember that Blaze IS his cat.
