In New Orleans Kane had carried out orders to liquidate a crook by the name of Tinder.
It was only after Tilder’s death that Kane learnt about the trouble up at Fort Henderson. A bar and brothel on wheels had taken to visiting the fort and the soldiers were regularly being fleeced of all they had.
An officer had been killed and a corporal blinded — and these were no accidents. Tilder had been discharged from Fort Henderson for swindling… he had wanted revenge.

But who else formed the syndicate that ran the brothel? How were the girls recruited? Sadistic Lonnie Kid and gross Claus Winter were somehow involved — and when Sheila Gordon tried to help Kane by whispering their names to him she was found hacked to death with a barber’s knife.

Kane wasn’t squeamish — but this case turned even his stomach.
