The Underdogs

A dog barks into the darkness of the sierra, and Demetrio Macías reaches for his rifle just as armed riders demand food at his door. Then one of them recognizes the man they have come to hunt.

In the mountains of revolutionary Mexico, Demetrio’s home is no refuge: the soldiers threaten his wife, and he slips away as flames rise from the canyon. At dawn, he summons his ragged companions and tells them the Federals are near. Hunted by a local cacique and driven from his family, Demetrio must decide what to do with the men ready to fight at his side. But when the old life is burning behind him, what will the struggle ahead ask of him?
