Nobody Loves Me

The United States national child maltreatment estimates for the Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2007 reported:

An estimated 794,000 children were victims of maltreatment.

More than 3.5 million children received CPS investigations or assessments.

The national estimate of 1,760 children died of abuse or neglect in 2007.

The information presented within these pages is meant to educate and raise awareness about the heinous crime of child sexual abuse, maltreatment and neglect. Child abuse is a criminal act, punishable by law, and has the magnitude of a national crisis. We must urgently improve the protection, prevention, and treatment strategies for children who suffer abuse and its debilitating consequences.
